Who is Eamon Dunphy?
Eamon Dunphy is a former professional footballer who went on to make a name for himself as an author and broadcaster.
He appeared for years as a pundit on RTÉ's football coverage alongside Bill O'Herlihy, John Giles and Liam Brady, known chiefly for his forthright and controversial views — from his support of Roy Keane after the
Saipan incident before the 2002 World Cup, to his long-time criticism of Cristiano Ronaldo as a "cheat" and "a disgrace" (comments since retracted).
His tendency to court controversy makes Dunphy one of the more quotable personalities on Irish TV.
